Weekly support group

...for strengths-focused youth development professionals

Youth work, whether it's in the classroom or on the streets, is hard work. Working in the strengths paradigm - however positive, hopeful and effective - has its own set of challenges. Yet, so often, teachers, youth workers and program administrators have no place to recharge, process, ask question, learn and get inspired.

For years, I have provided this spark of inspiration and learning through keynotes and seminars. Now, thanks to the development of free and easy online meeting technology, I am delighted to create this opportunity for you to get the support you need and deserve.

How does it work?  For consistency and to facilitate group cohesion and safety, you are asked to commit to an eight week

series of weekly sessions. We will meet via Skype and group size is limited.  At the beginning of each 8-week series, I will facilitate a conversation to determine the needs and desires of the group and will craft the balance of teaching, discussion and case review accordingly. During the 60-75 minute session, I will respond to your questions and facilitate discussion about issues brought forward by participants. When appropriate, I will expand on key points to assure a common understanding and to stimulate additional discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to present specific cases or dilemmas.  

Can I create my own group? Certainly! You are welcome to organize a small group of colleagues to participate together. Each person can participate from their own computer or you may gather in a conference room or home and I will join you via Skype on a single computer.

What is the cost? The cost for eight sessions is $170.  Please contact Chris before registering to make sure there is space remaining in the currently forming group.
